“i’m not dead yet”

in case some were wondering, yes, i’m still alive.  i’ve just been on a blogging hiatus.
i kinda wish i could say it was cause i’ve been here or there, doing this or that and haven’t had the time but that wouldn’t be true.
time, i’ve had.  it’s the desire that’s been lacking, which almost feels blasphemous to say.

i mean, i love blogging!  it’s not like i’ve been queen of the pastime but i’ve been more or less consistent since i started, enjoy putting stuff out there, and absolutely adore the responses, sharing, and encouragement i receive in return from you.  so you can imagine my surprise, and slight shame/embarrassment/whatever, when i realized i just didn’t care about it anymore.

after a few days of mulling over the whole thing, i decided it was really ok.  if whatever it is that blogging satisfies in me is being met in real life such that i don’t care to blog, that’s fine.  and if i decide to do more blogging again, that’s fine too.

i’ve actually enjoyed this break from online things.  i’m on email mostly just for that: email.  i don’t log in to chat all that regularly.  i haven’t tweeted in a few weeks and i only check facebook once or twice a week.  i try to keep up with my blogging friends’ posts but don’t worry when i have some catching up to do.  there have been some weekends that i don’t even touch my computer but to watch a tv show or two.
it’s been kinda nice.

however, i’ve been chanted and name-called into returning so here i am.

though i actually have several topics i’ve been thinking of blogging if i were to blog, i will give you a few things in honor of those who brought me back.

tree triming

we got a tree!

by “we”, i technically mean chris got a tree but i helped him pick it out, we used the horvath mama and papa’s car, and more than half of the decorations are mine so i think i earned the right to say “we”.  =)

after joy and brian came over sunday to play wii (not to be confused with the “we” above =P), chris and i rushed around to get the tree before gateway’s traditional christmas service that night.  in the spirit of being efficient with our time, chris walked up to the 6-7 footers, choose the tallest, and proclaimed, “this one!”
in the spirit of wanting a pretty tree, i insisted that we unwrap him to take a looksie before we made it official.

thankfully, the tree was perfect and it wasn’t too long before we got him home.

of course, after putting him in the stand, we had to rush off to church and abandon him for a few hours.  but it wasn’t long before we were back, with our trusty kn by our sides, to finish the job.

friday facts

hiya friends

friday five seems to have fallen off.  heck, compared to the high numbers of the last two months, any blogging here at hsn has fallen.

and, as timing would have it, i’ve got to run off to work in a few minutes so i’ll try to put out a quick update before i go.

1. i got my computer cord back!  for those who didn’t know, i left my cord in class last week.  after draining my battery that night to obsessively watch SatC, when i realized i had no power source, i called the school to ask if anyone had found it.  the woman in the office said she checked the room and it wasn’t there but she was an idiot wrong.  my little cord was waiting for me to come and rescue it from middle school hell and i did.  now, i’m reunited with my computer and all the wonderment it brings, like blogging and you!

2. ktd’s always up on cool onliney things and it’s delightful, but never surprising when he shares his insider knowledge.  in an email dubbed “list making lissie”, i found the link for teuxdeux.com.  fun times.

3. i got a job.  maybe two!!  =) 

while boyfriend is away to-do list

i’ve always been a fan of lists.  i like seeing everything in one place and watching the list shrink is oddly satisfying, sometimes downright addictive.
my mom likes lists and i’ve got some friends who love them as well.  however, i never knew someone so skilled in the art of list making until i met chris.  this is truly a craft that he’s mastered for not only is he good at thinking of things to put on the list, he’s even better at actually completing them.

so, with all the time on my hands these days, i occasionally turn to him for his expertise.  he’s helped me keep them to a manageable size and thinks of things i overlook or forget.
after i wasted too much time yesterday, i asked him to help me make a list for while he’s away on a family vacation. completing my airport delivery, i sadly realized that we never got the chance to do it.  imagine my surprise when i got an email entitled: while boyfriend is away to-do list.
