friday fiver

today has been a wonderful day!

last night, my man surprised me when i spied with my little eyes a sephora bag waiting for me after my class just because he likes me.  his awesomeness continued when he suggested we try and catch the sunrise the next morning.  mt. bonnell, coffee, and chris are a great way to start the day, even if it’s too cloudy to see the sun.

afterward, i got to add another austin breakfast place to my list when we hit up the omelettry f796697_4or some eats and meandered around a neighborhood looking at houses and for a parkish thingy that was on the map despite eluding us in real life.

the happy streak continued with a grilled muenster and roast beef, productive time at home, and a long awaited reunion with my HH girls.  though i’ve seen K and J individually, it’s been a while since i’ve been able to chill with both at the same time.  the three of us together is one of my favorite trios and i don’t want to go that long without again!

now, at last, i cut and past this week’s friday five.  thanks, cory!

no think; just laugh

since my thoughts were too thinky for someone…

and since i already posted a picture from the 100 acre woods…

i give you this as well.

=P

think, think, think

(most of this post was written on tuesday and i didn’t feel like switching the “last night” and “today” so it’s off a day.)

last night, emily, nora, and i headed over to the discount theater inpuuuuuuu round rock for some movie delight.  and by delight, i mean tears. =P
we saw the time traveler’s wife.

i had read a little over half of the book for a club i dabbled in a while back so while i knew what was going on and the ultimate ending, the pages i didn’t read and the poetic license of the screenwriter left some mystery that provided for overall satisfaction.

i left the theater thinking about the duration of relationships, wondering if living a peaceful life could really be a choice, and hoping for more happy marriages in the world cause life is too short.

i also left with the mental reminder that starting my week with a movie should become more regular.  you see, when you buy three tickets on a monday night, they’re only 50 cents each. SCORE!

rainy day music monday

fireflies1

hello.
how’s the day going?  it’s rainy and dreary here in austin.  i want to curl up with the new book i got at the thrift store last week (eat, pray, love) or watch episode upon episode ad infinitum of satc. hmmm…maybe i just will!

until then, i’ve got a song for you.

as i mentioned a few posts ago, i’ve been listening to the radio a lot more theses days and am surprisingly current in my music knowledge.  last week on the way home from class, i heard two songs that i thought had potential for sharing.  but after hearing it on the radio a few times yesterday and liking how it fits with the weather, i choose only one for you today.

friday five

hey friends!  happy friday!

last week, we introduced and new version of the friday five in which five different bloggers tackle the same question or experience.

read, laugh, roll your eyes, share your own answer, whatever–as long as you enjoy!

this week’s question:

When was the last time you stayed up all night or most of the night?  How was school or work the next day?  What’s your stay-coherent technique on days like that?

yay!!

imagesbe excited with me!
i’ve got some happy news.

no–it’s not a job.  let’s just get that outta the way. =)

i find it somewhat ironic that i’m going for my master’s of education (a system known for teaching and testing) and it wasn’t until the third course that i came across my first test.  perhaps it’s cause we spend so much time talking about how traditional tests aren’t really that great of an assessment…but nonetheless last week, i spent 3 hours completing my first grad school test and today, i got it back.
