‘nough said

hsn is coming to you live from class.

i reeeeeeally didn’t want to come here today.  the readings for tonight were a bore, we never seem to talk about teachers as instructional leaders (which happens to be the course title), and my prof refuses to help me with my grant (simply because she ignores all emails and acts like everything will magically come together when asked in person…as if i’m a ME or something).

however, i’m here and it hasn’t been all that bad.  i’ve noticed that in life.  i usually dread going to things but end up enjoying it once i get started.

if nothing else, i’ve learned a great rule for my classroom and/or own kids, if i ere should have the pleasure.

use this one and you need nothing else.  haha

you know i’m doing homework when…

i start waxing philosophical about this and that.

here’s a quote from today’s reading from leadership and the new science: discovering order in a chaotic world

“Fragmentation is now very widespread. Not only through society but also in each individual, this leading to a kind of general confusion of the mind, which creates an endless series of problems and interferes with our clarity of perception so seriously as to prevent us from being able to solve most of them.  The notion that all these fragments is separately existent is evidently an illusion, and this illusion cannot do other than lead to endless conflict and confusion. “

think, think, think

(most of this post was written on tuesday and i didn’t feel like switching the “last night” and “today” so it’s off a day.)

last night, emily, nora, and i headed over to the discount theater inpuuuuuuu round rock for some movie delight.  and by delight, i mean tears. =P
we saw the time traveler’s wife.

i had read a little over half of the book for a club i dabbled in a while back so while i knew what was going on and the ultimate ending, the pages i didn’t read and the poetic license of the screenwriter left some mystery that provided for overall satisfaction.

i left the theater thinking about the duration of relationships, wondering if living a peaceful life could really be a choice, and hoping for more happy marriages in the world cause life is too short.

i also left with the mental reminder that starting my week with a movie should become more regular.  you see, when you buy three tickets on a monday night, they’re only 50 cents each. SCORE!

twist of perspective

il_430xn-78214911 do you ever feel like a broken record?

my whole “dense lissie” category started cause i realized that i’m thinking and learning the same things over and over again.

and while it just occurred to me that i gave you a post on change a few weeks ago, for the past 24 hours it’s weighed on my mind so it’s what you get again.

like it.

too smart for our own good

i have a ginormous list of firsts that i want to share but i also want to get some beauty rest since the hours and emotions of last night seemingly led to a deficit.  seeing that i’m already up later than i’d planned, you’re getting this post instead. =)

tonight, i was watching the series finale of the geekiest show i’ve ever watched and a line one of the characters said struck me.
