03november2009

instead of writing about today, i decided to let my creativity have some fun.

i used mosaic maker and wordle to give two different representations of my day.  made up of activities and thoughts, i give you both a pictorial view and a word cloud to suit your mood or preference.

now i best be getting back to work.

happy tuesday!

friday five 2.0

remember how last year i used to post the friday five in which cory and my kindergarteners would take turn asking each other questions?
it was fun and cute and made you like little kids.

well, about a month ago, i thought and mentioned to cory that we should continue with the friday five, even without the kiddos, only maybe switch it up a bit.  one idea was that we’d have 5 different bloggers do or answer the same thing. cory liked the idea but things were hectic and it we never got it going.

this morning, i layed in bed thinking,”i miss friday five.  i wonder how cory is doing…”.  so you can imagine my surprise and delight when i woke to an email from him initiating the end of the week pasttime that i’ve missed so much.

ladies and gentlemen, i give you friday five 2.0.
hopefully, each friday you will get to read about a question, adventure, or whatever we want from five bloggers across the web.

i realize that it’s barely friday as i type this but the last response didn’t come in til nearly 6 and i do have a life away from my computer so i’m doin what i can.

today’s assignment was posed by cory driver:

1. tell me both of the things you don’t want to put on your blog because 1) was too embarrassing and 2) was too awesome, but awesome only to you and you’re afraid other people wouldn’t get the significance.

since i was thinking of friday five in a weekly sense, i read the questions as meaning “from the past week…” and limited myself to that time frame.
and, after receiving the responses of the other fivers, i realize that i’m wordy.  deal with it.  love it.  whatever. Read the rest of this entry »

strange things are afoot at the circle K

hey there.

it’s pouring outside.  well, actually…now that i listen, i see that the clouds are making a liar out of me.  it’s not pouring…now.  but it has been on and off and mostly on again all morning long.

i’m working on a curriculum project for my, go figure, curriculum class.  this is the last week for this class and i’m glad.  8 weeks seems like the perfect amount–just when i’m feeling an itch, it’s time to move onto a new topic.

last monday was a weird day for one reason: peanuts.02008Al

new pet

hi friends.  happy wednesday.

i have a story for you but first i’ll give you some background.

one of the many things that i like about me and chris is that we’re both usually ready for fun. and most of the time, we’re perfectly happy to create it for ourselves.

sometimes, it’s little things like seeing who can find a penny first.

once it was me unexpectedly accepting his challenge to race around the courtyard of the museum in dallas.

which, by the way, was too. much. fun.
even a stranger who spectated couldn’t help but tell us when he came across us inside.

i also liked playing in the hanging spaghetti art thingy at the blanton.  3525170489_e9bedac171_o

probably pretty dirty but undoubtedly entertaining.

however, sometimes we don’t have to create fun because the fun comes to us.
and so we begin the story of last saturday night.
